Free Invoice Generator Chrome Extension Privacy

The extension has one purpose: let you create an invoice, tax invoice or quote from Chrome’s side panel and save the finished document using Chrome’s print-to-PDF flow.

Invoice and quote data

The extension processes business details, client details, client and supplier VAT information, line items, prices, discounts, VAT or tax values, banking details, notes, terms, accent colour, optional accreditation details and logos, and an optional uploaded company logo inside the extension.

If you do not attach a company logo, the extension can create a local initials avatar from your company name. Uploaded company and accreditation images are reduced to browser-local display copies. None of this invoice content is uploaded to IDJoy.

Your current draft is stored in Chrome’s session storage so you can reopen the side panel during the browser session. It is not sent to IDJoy or a third party.

The optional Remember this draft on this browser setting stores the same draft locally in your Chrome profile so you can reopen it after Chrome restarts. Clearing the document removes that saved draft. IDJoy does not receive it.

Waitlist and optional newsletter

Joining the invoice-app waitlist is separate from creating invoices and quotes. It is not required to use the extension or save a PDF.

If you choose to join, the extension sends your email address, required waitlist consent, optional newsletter permission, form source, consent policy version, consent context and submission time to IDJoy. Invoice, client, banking, service, price, discount, VAT or tax, company-logo and accreditation data are not included.

The extension asks Chrome for temporary access to idjoy.co.za when you submit that form. The permission is removed after the request finishes. The signup is processed over HTTPS by the same IDJoy waitlist endpoint used by the web invoice generator, stored in IDJoy’s private Supabase database, and the confirmation is delivered through IDJoy’s business Gmail workflow. Newsletter messages are sent only when you separately select the optional newsletter checkbox.

Analytics, browsing and advertising

The extension does not read browsing history, website content, tabs, cookies, contacts or files other than company and accreditation images you deliberately choose. It does not inject scripts into websites, contains no advertising, and does not use invoice data for advertising. No analytics library is included in the extension package.

Permissions

sidePanel is used to show the invoice generator in Chrome’s native side panel. storage is used for the current browser-session draft and an optional locally remembered draft. Optional access to idjoy.co.za is requested only when you submit the waitlist/newsletter form and is removed after the request.
